Today was planned for class, and then movie at night with Pras and them.
Lunch with Rin and them and then class, then Replacement class at 6-7, food at orange eating the same thing twice (Thai style fried rice) and then headed out to the movie. We went to the movie theater at pyramid and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3!
Since we were running late, the ticket system finally helped. Over here you buy the ticket and the seat, unlike back home where it is first come first serve. So we got there and Once we sat down, right away the line ..."Welcome to Singapore,..... MORE steam.." came up and i laughed since Yitshie was just talking about that! hahha Overall the movie was a "gotta see movie since it is a sequel movie, ill pay for it once, but not a second time, will wait until some one has it on DVD, and we wanted to do a Pirates marathon!! I'm still waiting to try to do that with Lord of the Rings! hahaha
After the movie we headed to Jafar for supper and I had Nasi Goreng Kampur. I have realized that my rice intake has increased as much as the stock market crashed!!! An extraordinary amount... this is the third time I'm eating rice. Anyways Asian food is still baller over here. We were being immature and cutting straws into small pieces and cutting on edge into a point to make little noise makers! haha good fun.
A couple things that I will always notice and remind me I'm in Malaysia:
-Lizards in the house like, Whatever
-Subtitles during movies
-Movies come out later than in the States
-Ghe**o Protons! haha

Birthday......#2.......Time zones!! woo woo!!
It's finally Friday! Time goes by so fast, One moment I can see myself getting off the plane first getting into Malaysia. I reflect back and see my friends today, and just thank god I have such caring friends. It really makes a HUGE difference, when being away from home. Well for the second year in a row I am in another country for my birthday! That's a pretty cool story in itself!
Today went bowling with Justin and the gang, it was fun, since i haven't had the chance to bowl for fun lately, This one chick that was next to our lane was super hard core!!! Like a bazillion strikes!! I treated everyone to 2 games each, which was slightly more than 50 bucks. Its ok though, they have been really awesome! Plus as everyone played they all had a good time, and i didn't let them pay for bowling since i didn't tell them how much it was. Muahahhaha I had fun to, by winning at bowling and more importantly winning the bets and coming from behind to a super victory! After bowling we went to McDonald's and had ice cream sundaes. They bought me a green lime one, it was ok, but i much rather have had the simple hot fudge since I was having a chocolate craving moment. I started to feel really hungry because it was almost dinner time, and I started to think about buying an apple pie from McDonald's, but during that time I was looking around at the McDonald's counter, my other friend Shi Ni and Darren came out of no where with a cake in their hands and candles already lit. Right on the spot they started to sing Happy Birthday at the mall McDonald's! I was quite surprised and enjoyed the thought. These guys are really awesome friends. This is now cake number 3 1/2 because the first cake was a slice, then there were 2 cakes from my cell group because one of the cakes were dropped, but still delicious. Finally this is the third and final cake! I had fun cutting the cake in an odd manner because i was cutting around the outside of the cake and left all the nice fruits in the middle, still a nice cake though. We couldn't finish all of it so we packaged it up and walked around for a bit and then in pyramid I saw little Shin Chan things, that Sue and Rin would enjoy, I'm thinking about getting it for them for being awesome.
After walking around for a bit went and dropped off the cake at home, then off we went to SS2 for the mamak called Murni's. After getting through the traffic we made it to Murni's, and as we were looking for a table. We had good timing and found a table that would fit everyone right in front of the mamak. Too bad Justin and Kay were not there yet, because everyone seemed kinda quiet. I started to really appreciate my Sue and Rin a lot since I always enjoy their conversations until it gets super Chinese, since i understand about 5 words.... :-( haha
Anyways I had a Roti Hawaiian, and a drink called mango special (blended mango, ice, lychee, watermelon, and coconut jelly) then later I wanted a coconut special but they didn't have anymore, so i got daring and tried DURIAN special. I mean I like sweet durian, but man bitter one is nasty, and I figured there is no way they are going to make a super crappy drink, so everyone had a go at it and some liked it some didn't. I thought it was good enough to try it again some other time! Moving on later Justin called and he was with Kay, and they were trying to find the place, but ended up getting super lost and frustrated because they were so lost, i felt bad that they had to leave on a negative note like that, but Wen Yee and Candy had to go home so they took off after hearing Justin won't be making it. My birthday celebrations started to come to a close, but then out of no where, Arthur suggested to go to Laundry Bar.
Next thing you know we are driving to the place called the "Curve". There are lots and lots of food shops, shops, and a movie theater at the curve, a lot like a small little row of the Irvine Spectrum, being a no roof mall- like place. Arthur insisted on buying a "Flaming Lamborghini" its a shot that has an upside down Champagne glass on top of a flat metal piece, that is resting on a martini glass. The waiter lighted the sambuca, swirled it around a little bit and then poured it over the champagne glass which enters the other shots of galleno and something else that i forgot. Anyways the whole thing was flaming which was pretty sweet, and tasted fine, although I was a little scarred my hair was gonna burn some! hahha Then I had one pint of Kil Kenny, which was the first drink in about 3 -4 weeks! When i go back home I need to promise not to drink much! Ok moving on, so after Having some causal drinks, and talking we all left back home, and that was the end of the birthday celebrations. I had a good time, I really didn't need much more than that. The only thing i would have liked to change was the timing of my day compared to exams. And oh my friend Shi Ni wrote me a funny IOU a b day present gift. It's not about getting so I didn't really mind so yea... Whatever i spent my 20th birthday in Malaysia! Sounds pretty cool huh! haha
The things that I want to change now that I am 20 yrs old will be not living in the past so much wishing and wanting the past fun things that happened to keep happening like so, and to become more responsible for my actions. To prioritize activities that revolve around god, family and then friends. I know in the past I have placed friends and family higher than god, and this year I will change that and maintain it. It is my promise to myself.
Also to find the passion that I will be able to serve the lord, and be passionate about to make a successful career around it. Finally, to be always able to bless my friends, family, and people I meet in the future. I pray to become so blessed that I may be able to bless others with ease, and continue to bring people the lord's house.
May 26th- 27th, 2007
By now I have checked my face book and myspace and received a truck load o happy birthday greetings. I need to reply to them accordingly soon within a week to show my gratitude for their 20 seconds to write happy birthday. Today was a super just chilling day with some studying and some (lots) of watching shows and movies, then work, badminton, and then dinner with Michelle and Chaw and their ACCA friends. I had the green onion fish that was rather nice. Anyways, I have become accustomed to soy milk! It is half the price of milk so i figure when i go home, I might become an expensive eater due to the price of soy milk back home.
Anyways stayed up for a super long time, I don't understand why, but after very little studying, one after the other I watched show after show, until 6 o'clock in the morning. I'm surprised I woke up around 8:20 and then made it to Church for bible study a little late, but better than never. I felt bad letting Wan Yeng down by not remembering the bible verses perfectly and let alone only remembering 4 out of the 7. I felt a little bad since study should be a valid reason why i couldn't remember it, but really there is not enough study to not allow me to remember the verses. Next time I'll get 100% and make myself happy, and her happy by getting that 100 %. In church today we learned more about prayer. Thing to remember is that prayer is the reward, one can not ask to hang out with you and then after devoting all the time to hang out still want a gift in the end, isn't the time spent together enough. This is the key point of the service, that being able to spend time with the lord through prayer is the REWARD from prayer. Yes Asking for god for things is important, because everything can not be done by our selves, but if there are things that are important one must keep praying for those things and do not stop praying until the prayer has been answered. This takes time so I need to be consistent, and patient to have my prayers be answered. Overall time is still flying by so quickly, I miss my friends a lot, but I know they will always be there. Always!
Tomorrow I need to call the folks, see when to change my flight to or at least find out how to change it, watch pirates of the Caribbean, clean my room, study, study, study, and by the Shin Chan things for Rin and Sue. That is all for now... next time I promise the post will be much shorter and make a lot more sense!!!

Birthday......#1.......Time zones!! woo woo!!
Stayed up late last night, talking to a friend i haven't heard from in a good year and a half to two years. I'm glad to hear she is doing well, and i hope to visit her in the near future.
Anyways I planning to go to SS15 for lunch with Rin, but then as we are driving further away I was like hey where we going? and she was like NOooo where... Going to pick up Sue Lin!
I was like what?! no way, So ended up going to a Chinese restaurant in SS2 after finding out Sue didn't even wake up until Cherina was calling saying we are outside! She looked so tired opening the gate for us. Her house was crazy! looked nice inside, but had like a thousand and one things to look at just in the living room!
Had baked cheese and chicken rice in a ghetto wooden bowl, which was OK, and then a drink that was Chocolate and Mango, and by the way it was called "Eurasian"! So when the drink came and he said the name of it, it was like umm yea I know "I'm Asian!" hahah Zha Dou After cracking jokes, talking about old music, making animal sounds, and remembering lyrics or the title to the movie Unleashed, we left the place and went to Secret recipe. Also this Chinese restaurant would have served a massive drink that need 6 people , but u had to have 6 people, i was mad!! oh well.... By the Rin was wicked and paid for lunch! I totally owe her.
Secret Recipe gave me problems with trying to choose which cake slice I wanted! After much debate I choose Chocolate Indulgence! Hmmm it was so nice, best cake I had all day. After cake and talking at secret recipe for a good while headed out since it was already 6:30!!!! Time flew by so fast. I had a good time though since I enjoy Sue and Rin's company. They are really nice, and pretty caring. Its nice to feel like part of the group. It's hard to establish such when traveling different places and starting a new relationship with people that have been friends for so long.
I hate how I am always so indecisive..... Choosing food... cake.... activities that I want to do... I need to work on that!
Next on the agenda was to go to cell group like normal so after I got back, I quickly took a shower and then left to cell group. Cell Group talked about Friends! How to be a true and good friend. Commitment, learn to care, and consistency were the main factors of true friends. I agree with the teaching.
After the teachings Monica, had the cell group sing to me, and they tried to fake me out as if they forgot, but I know they are too nice and caring to forget. So after that we went to the Mamak near "Ris-wan?" and had Mango Lasee and nasi goreng daging. The group busted out 2 b days cakes because i think one had an accident, and they gave me a present. I received a T-shirt from UNIONbay that looks nice. Time to wear it on Sunday.
After dinner, when I was going to pay they comped my mango lasee and I paid my 5 without having to borrow for my b day. Due to having two cakes, I had to take some home. Upon my arrival home i encountered my friend Angie. I headed up to her place and offered everyone cake, no one took any! GRRRrrrr Angie gave me a present, and i received birthday hugs from everyone.
I've had a great simple birthday hanging out with people i care about, but more importantly I know I am blessed to have such great people! I only pray I am as helpful and much more to them any and all the time.
Unfortunately, no study has been done. Not sure how I am going to do on my exams but so far out look is not good. May my studies for exams and studying the bible verses Start well tomorrow~!

Continuing to Fight the Blur...
I woke up to a text message wishing me happy birthday although my b day isn't until the 24th! I sadly woke up at 8 gonna go to class when I was standing and was so tired i could not even keep my eyes open. I decided I should just sleep. So I slept.
Got up and headed to lunch again at orange, then i enjoyed my food way before everyone else because their fried rice too hella long!
So this food place doesn't just have one counter where u order it has different places of food cooking and you order directly from them. and I don't know how they do it, but they manage to find you and give you your order. The best part is NO tipping!! Ya.. and its pretty cheap. Nothing is really over 6 bucks, and converted that is no more than 3 US!
It is also awesome how they have fresh fruit juice when ordered. Not cans or whatever crap. The only thing I hate is drinks cost as much as food sometimes and you know for sure drinks are cheaper!!
Throughout the day I've been getting more and more excited about my B day!! And more nervous about studying!!
And now it is finally May 24th as i type. I could almost feel the arthritis kicking in!! hahah JK.
Anyways plan for tomorrow is class at 8-9 then swim from 9-10ish then go to uni and then chill till lunch and then class at 1. Then I should study, and then church cell group and then dinner. I will enjoy their company, and then Friday is class, then bowling with friends, and then dinner at Murni's!! Woo Woo, hopefully everyone enjoys themselves, my wish is to be able to impact every ones lives with the presence of God, and positively influence their life. Second wish is have a glimpse or a better idea or find one of my passions that I would love to pursue in life!!!

The Fight Blur....
May 22nd 2007, I have no class today, woke up at 12 prayed, checked email, and then showered. I get to wake up from the lovely sounds of renovation. Pound..pound ..pound, drill...drill..drill. I got up checked my email, and what not, then showered and got ready to go outside. I met up with Shi Ni and Darren over at the Musa lounge, then headed out to Orange. Its place with lots of hockee stalls and food thats pretty much under 5 bucks. Also the building is orange, hence the nick name of Orange. I enjoyed some simple pork porridge for lunch.
The plan was to study all day until about 7 and then go to "pasa malam?"? but neither studying or the night market happenend. It was seriously a struggle to think all day. I don't understand why. One i know I need to study because i have finals soon, but for some stupid reason that i can not see is "hey let's not study and let's do nothing instead.!!! ARRGG
So i watched remember the Titans to see if it would motivate me to study,.. NOPE, not any better. In the middle of the movie my friend Justin called me to go eat dinner. This time I went to Pink! Yes the outside is pink! So lunch was 3.50 and now dinner I am having roasted chicked with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I know it doesn't sound that nice, but hey from having rice for almost every meal of every day mashed potatoes sounded very nice! I ate the chicked soo slow trying to make myself a little fuller than the small portion would do for me.
Anyways dinner talk was pretty dull with half of it talking about soccer, and how Man U should have one. But hey it was a good game, and you were entertained. Good game, just no cherry on top. Any ways the food was fine and especailly for 6 bucks, cant go wrong there.
Anyways more movie, and more Bur the rest of the night. Maybe ill do better tomorrow

A Time Long ago......
Here it finally after all the times and travels, here is my blog! I named it the Adventures of Sid Brown in dedication to my Uncle Ryan, because he use to call me that, and my older sister was Sam. I don't know why, but it stuck around. I am a beach bum of the pacific coast. warm and sunny most of the year, and up north funny people say hella a lot.
I have a sister that is two years older than me, that's it no brothers. My parents are divorced, still are very caring and loving & and I miss them everyday. Some days more than others! haha jk.
My adventure is like no other, most kids when they are junior or senior year think about which school they want to go to for college. I thought about where I could go. It started out thinking of going to local schools, then my dad insisted I should think of going out of state to experience something new and grow, and make sure you get out of the house because I rather have you do that. Yes, he did go to school out of his state, and he grew up, A lot, thus he wanted me to grow up to and experience what is out there. So, it went from looking at schools that are local within a radius of 4hr drive to now, thinking about Colorado, Florida, or even Hawaii, but out of the No where my Father let me know I have a distant relative that lives in Australia!
I have never met this relative or seen a picture of the person, but it still was an option because hey they're family! haha So, being a beach bum that enjoys surfing and having fun, well could not pass up the chance to go to Australia, I mean hey its is Australia!! So, the research to find out what it would take to get there began. After lots of attempts to talk to the schools and what not it came down to going there in person to see what i can do to make it happen. Looking for schools from far away is very difficult. Every country has its own idea of excellence, and then the criteria is always different, and not to mention the culture.
So, after doing all the trouble some things i finally started school in Australia. Melbourne, Australia!
The beaches in Aussie aren't too bad, a lot more natural feel compared to my home town. The weather was nice and warm until there winter and US summer. Also the water does runs the opposite way compared to the US and northern hemisphere toilets.
I experienced some culture shock here, and there from what i would like to call the "USA bubble" While living in the states and being a normal happy kid, the US doesn't' really address many international issues or culture. There are all the sports you could ever want there that other country sports have little impact on the States. Although in many other countries sports like soccer or cricket rule the country as if it was the super bowl in the states. The Melbourne cup was nicknamed "the Race that stops the nation," now being in Australia two big things happened, gambling and drinking became legal. Upon my arrival i met with a friend that lives in Aussie and the Melbourne cup was on the next day. My friend taught me how to bet, and there i go spend some of my first money in Australia on a horse race. None of my horses won anything because an amazing event of "something DIVA" won the race for the third consecutive year in a row.
Enough about that, school in Aussie seemed a lot less exciting compared to the schools back in the states.
#1. the school vs school sports is very crappy or none existence
#2. Drinking is legal at 18 so all the wild parties and what not are done while they are 16-17
#3. Everything is spread out kind of far.
#4. The low population makes the idea that there are a lot of hot Aussie chicks to a smaller amount and that is very uncool!
#5. People do no use kangaroos as pets! haha No, but shops and stores always close around 4-6
#6. People do not really have the wild Aussie accent people think they do, a lot less in southern Aus, but more in the north.
#7. Alcohol is expensive and they do not play beer pong, or have keg parties.
#8. Food is more expensive, and pizza is not cheap.
#9. NO one really goes to church
#10. the most important, PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHO TO THROW A BOOMERANG, only a select few.
On top of all that, movies, and TV are behind compared to the states, and at this school they charged $15 Bucks for every GB downloaded!
For people who are not from the states Australia seems super super cool, but I'll you know the whole entertainment culture is from the States. Movies, TV, and even most of the clothing. Also how things are structured has a similar look style and feel that matches the states.
Despite all the negatives I can find, the experience of cooping away from home, family, friends was a large achievement. It became a stepping stone because the next year I transferred to a school that is connected to the one in Aussie and now I am in Malaysia! It is one thing to go to Aussie, where everyone speaks English, and food, lifestyle, and culture is relatively the same and oh there was still surf in Aussie so there was the occasional surf outing.
Since I have been to Malaysia I have done many things and have tried many many food dishes. It has been a trip just trying all the food, and meeting people. Meeting people is nice, and offers insight into life here. Even though there are many differences compared to back home, it is what makes me like being in Malaysia. The main thing i hate about Malaysia would be the humidity. And "Asam Boya" i think that is how you spell it, anyways that sour plum seed thing is just plain gross. Anyways till next time to hear the previous adventures in Malaysia and current ones as they come along.
